Boca Juniors has presented a major renovation project for La Bombonera stadium in Buenos Aires. The initiative aims to increase the stadium's capacity to 80,000 spectators while preserving its historical identity and without affecting neighboring homes. Developed over two years, the project includes closing the stadium's historic 'U' shape, building new stands and boxes, and adding a full roof. Four new circulation towers connected by suspended bridges will be constructed, along with 18 new elevators. The club has conducted a comprehensive structural analysis, confirming that the existing structure can support the planned changes. The project already includes modernizing the electrical system, installing over 3,000 LED lights, and renovating the main hall and members' area. A new restaurant and a 1,500-square-meter gym for members are also under construction.
